Nora
HISTORY –
Nora was diagnosed with bilateral elbow dysplasia at the age of 4 after experiencing intermittent forelimb lameness. Previously an active running companion, she had logged more than 200 miles during her first four years of life. However, as her elbow disease progressed, her family began limiting her running and adjusting her activities to help keep her comfortable.
Nora’s radiographs showed significant degenerative joint disease, and she also had reduced elbow flexion. Her joint care regimen included Cosequin, omega-3 supplements, and Rimadyl as needed after more strenuous activities. She also recently started on monthly Adequan. Her family’s goal was to keep her mobile and comfortable for as long as possible while allowing her to continue enjoying the activities she loves.
DIAGNOSIS –
Bilateral elbow dysplasia with significant degenerative joint disease.
TREATMENTS -
Nora received an injection of Spryng® with OsteoCushion® Technology in both elbows in April 2026.
Her ongoing joint-care regimen includes YuMOVE, omega-3 supplements, monthly Adequan, and Rimadyl as needed for days of heavier exercise.
OUTCOME -
Since receiving Spryng®, Nora’s family has noticed less intermittent lameness after strenuous activity and a shorter recovery period following hikes, runs, and other physical activity.
This summer, Nora has been able to hike 10 to 20 miles per month, with less noticeable lameness and less time needed to recover afterward.
Her family has also noticed that she seems less wiped out after active days.
Interestingly, a bald spot on Nora’s ventral chest, which had developed from rubbing against the ground when transitioning from standing or sitting to lying down, has begun to grow back. Her family suspects she may be lying down differently now that she is more comfortable.
Nora’s family is happy to see her continuing to enjoy an active lifestyle while they work to keep her comfortable and mobile.
