Missy
HISTORY –
Missy Misdemeanor Elliot is a Shiba Inu who enjoys playing tug of war, fetching her favorite stuffed watermelon toy, and keeping a close watch over her household.
Missy had previously undergone femoral head ostectomy (FHO) surgery on her left hip approximately two years prior. Following surgery, she developed osteoarthritis and degenerative changes in her right hind limb, which continued to worsen with age. Over time, her owners noticed reduced comfort with movement and decreased ease with activities she once enjoyed.
DIAGNOSIS –
Previous FHO due to Coxo-femoral luxation
Right hind limb osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease
TREATMENTS -
Initial treatments: CBD and Carprofen.
Missy received an injection of Spryng® with OsteoCushion® Technology in her right hip. She also receives at-home red light therapy as part of a multimodal treatment with the Spryng.
OUTCOME -
Following treatment, her owners reported increased energy, improved comfort with daily activities, and her interest in play was back. Most notably, Missy resumed jumping onto the couch again for the first time since her FHO surgery and began standing on her hind legs in the morning to demand breakfast.
