Cooper
7-year-old MN Mixed-Breed Dog
DVM Veterinarian: Dr. Katie Frosch, DVM
HISTORY –
Cooper, a 7-year-old mixed-breed dog, was diagnosed with severe arthritis in both elbows in March 2024. At that time, he was unable to bear weight on his front left leg. X-rays confirmed the extent of his condition, and he was started on Carprofen and monthly Librela injections. This treatment provided relief for several months, but by October 2024, the Librela was no longer providing lasting effect.
In December 2024, Cooper developed a lick granuloma on his left leg, suspected to be as a result of the pain. His treatment plan was adjusted to include antibiotics, Carprofen, and Gabapentin. Seeking specialized care, his owners transitioned his treatment to Dr. Katie Frosch, who has extensive experience with senior pets. After learning about Spryng®, they discussed its potential benefits with Dr. Frosch, who agreed that Cooper was an ideal candidate.
DIAGNOSIS –
Bilateral Elbow Osteoarthritis
TREATMENTS -
On January 14, 2025, Cooper received a Spryng® injection with OsteoCushion™ Technology in both elbows.
OUTCOME -
Before receiving Spryng®, Cooper was visibly uncomfortable. He frequently shifted his weight between his front legs and struggled to stand, even while on Carprofen and Gabapentin.
Almost immediately after the injections, once the anesthesia wore off, a clear difference in his mobility was seen. Cooper’s gait became more stable, weight-shifting decreased, and he no longer struggled to rise. His overall comfort and mobility improved significantly, reducing his dependence on pain medications and no longer needing any Gabapentin.
His owners are thrilled with the results, seeing a happier, more mobile Cooper who is moving with ease and without observed lameness.
